We hate to say it, but DIY website building solutions are getting more attractive all the time. They offer an empowering solution to the “I want a website” problem. They are getting easier to use and are inexpensive. Worse, the companies behind them have the budgets to reach our clients before we do. Are we facing extinction?
As an industry we doubt it (as two old batshit crazy Brits the jury is out). Whatever we call this web design business we are in it has always be been about change. It always attracted those who can adapt. Wix, Weebly, Squarespace and Shopify… you don’t frighten us.
