Interview with Sam Mulaim and Nathan Wrigley

WordPress (self-hosted) is not SaaS, and anyone with even a fleeting understanding of it knows that you need to look after it, maintain it, secure it, back it up. In fact if you’ve got one website… all these tasks start to add up pretty quickly, but if you’re managing ten, or fifty, or more then the maintenance of the sites can really start to dig into your time.

Enter FixRunner as a way of making this pain go away. FixRunner will do all of these tasks for you so that you can concentrate upon the things that you like doing – building sites.

Now I know that you might like to do all of this in house, and that’s fair enough, but you might also have grown to the point where you see these tasks as getting in the way; preventing you from working on building new relationships and websites. If you’ve made that decision already, take a look at FixRunner, if you have not, well… take a look at FixRunner anyway and see if they have something to offer you.

In the podcast today I speak with Sam Mulaim, founder of FixRunner. He talks about how they got started with WordPress and the business of offering maintenance to agency partners.

We talk about the services that they offer: custom development, malware removal, personal WordPress support, updates, speed optimisation, backups, uptime monitoring and security.

We also talk about their one-time-fix offering. You don’t need to be on any of their plans, they will just carry out a fix of one thing, which is pretty interesting and might get you out of a hole when you’re in a tight spot!

We also talk about the pricing and how you can get on board.

It’s a fairly short podcast and Sam’s audio is a little echoey, but it’s perfectly listenable.

As always, drop comments here or in the WP Builds Facebook Group.
